1. Purpose of the Platform
LearnAdapt is an open-source, globally accessible research infrastructure designed to evaluate and improve AI-assisted pedagogical methods. By creating an account and interacting with the system, you are contributing to a large-scale, anonymized dataset that will be used to understand human-AI learning dynamics.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect educational telemetry, which includes:
- Your interactions with the educational AI (questions asked, hints requested, text inputted).
- System-generated metadata (timestamps, mastery predictions).
- Responses to assessment items.
Crucially, our system actively redacts Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Any names, emails, or phone numbers you accidentally type into the chat interface are automatically scrubbed and replaced with placeholders (e.g., [NAME_REDACTED]) before being saved.
3. Privacy and Data Security
Your identity is protected. Your account is tied to a secure, hashed password, and your telemetry is linked only to a random participant ID. No direct identifiers will ever be released in open datasets.
4. Your Rights (The Right to be Forgotten)
Participation is entirely voluntary. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time without penalty. You may permanently delete your account and pseudonymize all your historical data by visiting your Account Settings.
5. Contact Information
For questions regarding this research or your data privacy, please contact the Principal Investigator: Nizam Kadir at SUTD via email at nizam.kadir@learnadaptresearch.org.
